MEAN MULE DISTILLERY
Working with Mean Mule on three murals for their agave distillery was actual dream come true. Not only have I always been a tequila girl but I’ve been a fan of Mean mule since the day they opened. Over the years i’ve been manifesting working with them on a mural and it wasn’t until I emailed them to shoot my shot that I realized it was a possibility. I feel so grateful that they took a chance on me and let me show them what I can do.
Here are a few of my favorite concepts that didn’t get picked for the front wall design.
FINAL DESIGN CHOSEN
Original distillery door concept ideas
Both distillery door murals ended up being fully freehanded. I started sketching on the wall and designing as I went.I had been drawing a lot of agave in preparation for this project so things just flowed out of me and i’m so proud of how it turned out.
Side one is inside the distillery, it was very dark in there and had no windows. That side also had a huge hole in the brick above the door that I didn’t plan for so I decided to add a moon and night sky to camouflage it into the rest of the mural.
Side two changed a lot of the original design and is probably one of the coolest things i’ve ever created. I love seeing how a project can change shape from the original plan and become even better.
